DAY 1 – WELCOME – SUMIDERO CANYON – CHIAPA DE CORZO – SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS

  • Welcome at the Tuxtla Gutiérrez airport where you will begin the excursion through Chiapas and the Mayan World. Transfer to the pier to take a boat through the Sumidero Canyon. Travel tip: Arrive between 8:00 and 11:30 a.m. You can take a flight from Cancun, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey or Guatemala City. Bring comfortable clothing.
  • 12:30 pm. (approximate time if you arrive at the airport at 11:30 a.m.) You will take a beautiful boat tour through the majestic Sumidero Canyon on the Grijalva River, one of the main tourist attractions in Chiapas. On the way it will be possible to observe various species of birds and with a bit more luck monkeys and crocodiles.
  • 3:30 pm. You will visit the Magical Town of Chiapa de Corzo where you will have time to get to know the center with its Mudejar-style fountain and the former convent of Santo Domingo, eat and taste typical dishes. Tip: The traditional dresses of Chiapaneca and Parachico, full of great colors, originate from here. Later we will transfer you to the hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas to register and rest arriving at 6:00 p.m. approximately.

DAY 2 – TOUR TO SAN JUAN CHAMULA AND ZINACANTAN – SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS

  • 9:00 a.m. We will continue our Tours in Mayan Archaeological Zones, going to the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán to learn about their traditions. In the Church of San Juan Chamula you will observe a mystical mixture of indigenous and Catholic rites. In Zinacantán you will live with a local family and appreciate their hand-made embroideries.
  • 1:00 pm We will return to San Cristóbal de las Casas. You will have free time to walk in the colorful walkways, buy handicrafts, visit the center of this beautiful magical town, knowing some important points such as the Cathedral, Plaza de La Paz, Santo Domingo and the Arco del Carmen. Without a doubt, this town will captivate you by the mixture of cultures that coexist daily and by its great color. Lodging in San Cristobal de las Casas. Tip: If your budget and time allow it, we suggest adding 1 more night here.

DAY 3: VISIT TO AGUA AZUL AND MISOL HA WATERFALLS – PALENQUE

  • Breakfast included in hotel. Ready to continue with the adventure in Chiapas. 8:00 am. We will go to the beautiful Agua Azul Waterfalls, of singular beauty due to the intense turquoise blue color of its waters that run over limestone stones. You will have enough time to walk, freshen up and eat. Tip: It is advisable to bring a change of clothes and a personal towel at hand.
  • 4:30 a.m. We will continue on our way to reach the Misol Ha Waterfall, a beautiful 30-meter-high waterfall that has a path that will take you behind the curtain of water and have a unique view of the place. We will arrive in the city of Palenque at approximately 6:00 p.m.

DAY 4: TOUR TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE OF PALENQUE – CAMPECHE

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 9:00 am. Departure to visit the archaeological zone of Palenque, one of the most important cities of the Mayan Culture. You will be able to visit the Temple of the Inscriptions, the Skull, the Red Queen, the Crosses and the Main Palace. As well as visiting the baths of the Queen (natural waterfall within the archaeological zone). All this surrounded by a jungle landscape that will captivate you.
  • 12:00 pm. The Tours in Mayan Archaeological Zones continues. We begin a 5-hour transfer to the City of Campeche. Note: You will have time for lunch en route. We will arrive in Campeche around 5:30 p.m. to check in to a hotel and have the rest of the afternoon free to explore this beautiful walled city. Travel tip: Visit the most important points of the Historic Center by tram, visit the bastions and museums that surround the Historic Center, visit the Cathedral dedicated to Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. Enjoy a delicious meal in the gastronomic walker on Calle 59 or simply take a walk along the boardwalk. At night you can enjoy the nightly light and sound show at Puerta de Tierra called “El Lugar del Sol”.

DAY 5: VISIT TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE OF UXMAL – MÉRIDA

  • Breakfast at the hotel. Ready to continue with this tour of the Mayan route. 8:00 am. Departure to discover another wonder of the Mayan Culture declared a World Heritage Site: Uxmal. This impressive city has a Puuc-style architecture, traditional in the area, in addition to being distributed with a quadrangular design where we can see one of the most beautiful and relevant Mayan cities of antiquity. In this Mayan city we will admire its buildings and we will go back in time to learn about this ancient culture. Among the buildings that you will know is the House of the Fortune Teller, the Governor’s Palace, the Convent, among others.
  • Finishing the tour we will transfer you to Mérida where you will have the afternoon free. Travel tip: We recommend you walk the famous Paseo Montejo, the longest and most beautiful avenue in Mérida (with just over 5 km) and admire its old mansions and French-style buildings dating from the Colonial and Porfiriato times. Every night there is a free cultural event in various places in the center of Merida.

DAY 6: TOUR TO HACIENDA SOTUTA DE PEÓN – CENOTE – MÉRIDA

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 8:15 a.m. We will go to see the Sotuta de Peón Hacienda, where we will make an interesting 2- hour journey into the past while we enjoy the most important points of the Hacienda.
  • When touring the Hacienda, you will feel transported back in time, since you will go aboard wooden platforms on rails called “Trucks” which are pulled by mules, just as the workers used at that time. Here, you will be able to witness the transformation process of Henequen (also called Green Gold in this region), from the plant to the fiber, and from the fiber to the finished product, in addition to being able to visit a typical Mayan house and you will also be able to refresh themselves in the Hacienda’s best kept secret: the Cenote. You can swim in some beautiful pools with crystalline and refreshing waters, or if you prefer you can also swim in the pool of the Hacienda that is surrounded by spectacular vegetation. At the end of the tour there will be time to taste some typical appetizers of the region (included in price) and if you like you can order main course food dishes (not included). Later we will transfer you back to the hotel in Merida.

DAY 7: TOUR TO THE RÍA CELESTÚN BIOSPHERE RESERVE – MÉRIDA

  • 8:00 am. Transfer of almost 2 hours to the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve, it is one of the reserves with the greatest richness of species and interdependent ecosystems, namely, mangroves, dunes, petenes, low jungle and grasslands. One of the main attractions of the reserve is bird watching since Ría Celestún is one of the main resting, feeding and reproduction sites for a wide variety of birds, including colonies of beautiful pink flamingos. surprise yourself! The Tours in Mayan Archaeological Zones includes a boat ride lasting just under 2 hours through the estuary, the mangroves and bird island, as well as time to cool off in a spring with crystal clear waters. Tip: Flamingos are nervous birds, so we ask you not to scare them or make them fly. It is recommended to enjoy them in silence and do not forget to have your camera or video camera ready. The season in which more flamingos are sighted is from November to April. Finishing the tour at 12:00 p.m. Approximately you will have time for lunch to taste seafood taken from the sea by fishermen from the same town, in a restaurant facing the sea.   • 3:00 pm. Transfer back to the hotel in Mérida arriving at 5:00 p.m. approximately. Free dinner.

DAY 8: VISIT TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE OF CHICHEN ITZÁ – CENOTE IKKIL – TRANSFER TO CANCUN

  • Breakfast at the hotel. 8:00 a.m. Departure for the archaeological zone of Chichen Itzá, Wonder of the World, of the Mayan Culture and also a World Heritage Site. You will be able to visit the Observatory, the Ball Court, the Temple of the Thousand Columns and the famous pyramid of Kukulkan where twice a year, during the equinox, the feathered serpent formed by the sun descends.
  • 1:00 pm. We will continue our visit with the perfect combination: a refreshing visit to the Ikkil Cenote where you can enjoy the underground waters and the beautiful landscape that surrounds them.
  • Lunch time and later we will transfer you to your hotel in Cancun to end this beautiful tour of the Mayan World.
