DAY 1:  WELCOME – SUMIDERO CANYON AND CHIAPA DE CORZO MAGIC TOWN – SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS MAGIC TOWN

 

  • Welcome at the Tuxtla Gutiérrez airport where we will begin the excursion through Chiapas and the Mayan World. Transfer to the pier to take a boat through the Sumidero Canyon. Travel tip: Arrive between 8:00 and 11:30 a.m. You can take a flight from Cancun, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey or Guatemala City. Bring comfortable clothing.
  • 12:30 pm. (approximate time if you arrive at the airport at 11:30 a.m.) We will take a beautiful boat tour through the majestic Sumidero Canyon on the Grijalva River, one of the main tourist attractions in Chiapas. On the way it will be possible to observe various species of birds and with a bit more luck monkeys and crocodiles.
  • 3:30 pm We will visit the colonial Chiapa de Corzo where there will be time to get to know the center, eat and taste typical dishes.
  • Later we will transfer you to the hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas to register and rest arriving at 6:00 p.m. approximately

DAY 2 – TOUR TO SAN JUAN CHAMULA AND ZINACANTAN – FREE AFTERNOON IN SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS 

  • After breakfast at hotel, continue our Best Mayan Culture Tours.

 

  • 9:00 am We will go to the indigenous communities of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán to learn about their traditions. In the church of San Juan Chamula we will observe a mystical mixture of indigenous and Catholic rites. In Zinacantán we will live with a local family and we will appreciate their handmade embroideries.
  • 1:00 pm Transfer back to your hotel in San Cristóbal de las Casas and the rest of the afternoon free to walk in the colorful walkways, buy handicrafts, visit the center of this beautiful magical town, knowing some important points such as the Cathedral, Plaza from La Paz, Santo Domingo and the Arco del Carmen. Without a doubt, this town will captivate you by the mixture of cultures that coexist daily and by its great color.

DAY 3: VISIT TO AGUA AZUL AND MISOL-HA WATERFALLS – PALENQUE 

  • Breakfast included. Ready to continue with the Chiapas adventure. 
  • 8:30 a.m. We will go to the beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul, with a unique beauty with an intense turquoise color of the water running over limestone. There were be enough time to walk around, swim and cool off in the crystal water and have lunch.  Travel Tip: It is advisable to bring a change of clothes and personal towel in case you wish to swim.
  • 4:30 p.m. We will continue our private tour in Mexico, to reach the Misol Ha waterfall, ta beautiful 30-meter-high waterfall that has a path that will take you behind the curtain of water and have a unique view of the place. Arriving to Palenque Magic Town at 6:30 p.m. approximately. Hotel in Palenque.

DAY 4 – PALENQUE ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE – CAMPECHE

  • Breakfast at hotel. Today is another beautiful day of our Best Mayan Culture Tours.
  • 9:00 a.m. We will visit one of the main tourist attractions in Chiapas: the archaeological site of Palenque, one of the most important cities of the Mayan Culture. We will explore and walk inside the Temple of the Skull, Temple of the Inscriptions, Temple of the Red Queen, Temple of the Crosses and the Great Palace of Palenque. There will be time to visit the museum, where you will see a replica of the tomb of Pakal, one of the main findings of this legendary city.
  • After visiting Palenque we will go to Xpujil town in Campeche, where we’ll continue our journey, arriving at 5p.m. Spare afternoon to visit the city.

DAY 5 – UXMAL ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE – MERIDA

  • Breakfast at the Hotel. 8:00 am Departure to see another wonder of the Mayan Culture declared a World Heritage Site: Uxmal. This impressive city has a Puuc-style architecture, traditional in the area, in addition to being distributed with a quadrangular design where we can see one of the most beautiful and relevant Mayan cities of antiquity. In this Mayan city we will admire its buildings and we will go back in time to learn about this ancient culture. Among the buildings that you will know is the House of the Fortune Teller, the Governor’s Palace, the Convent, among others.
  • Finishing the tour you will move to Mérida where you will have the afternoon free. Travel tip: We recommend you walk the famous Paseo Montejo, the longest and most beautiful avenue in Mérida (with just over 5 km) and admire its old mansions and French-style buildings dating from the Colonial and Porfiriato times

DAY 6 – CHICHEN ITZA ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE – CENOTE IKKIL

  • Breakfast at the Hotel. 8:00 am Departure for the archaeological zone of Chichen Itza, Wonder of the World, of the Mayan Culture and also a World Heritage Site. You will be able to visit the Observatory, the Ball Court, the Temple of the Thousand Columns and the famous Kukulkan pyramid where twice a year, during the equinox, the feathered serpent formed by the sun descends.
  • 1:00 am We will continue our visit with the perfect combination: a refreshing visit to the Ikkil cenote where you can enjoy the underground waters and the beautiful landscape that surrounds them.
  • Food time. Transfer to the Magic Town of Valladolid arriving at 4:00 p.m

DAY 7 – VISIT TO THE TULUM ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE – CANCUN – END OF SERVICES

  • 9:00 am. Departure and transfer of 1 hour and a half to visit the beautiful walled archaeological zone of Tulum, whose special characteristic is its adjoining the Caribbean Sea. You will be able to visit the archaeological zone and cool off in the bay, enjoying the turquoise blue water and white sand that characterizes the Caribbean Sea.
  • 2:00 p.m. Transfer to your hotel in Tulum to register and rest. Good trip home.
